KPS4Parents (http://www.kps4parents.org) is a 501©(3) non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that all eligible children receive the free appropriate public education guaranteed them by federal law and that parents have the resources to ensure that their children with special needs receive appropriate educational outcomes.
We are looking for IT professionals to volunteer and collaborate/discuss the use of various technologies, open source and otherwise, to automate as much of special ed administration, data collection, document management, etc. as possible. Our goal is to design a system that can be proposed to the federal government for implementation on a national level, streamlining the flow of information and resources from the federal government down to the classroom and back.
