Who can I speak with about a possible location upgrade to the November meeting?

Be careful, you might offend those of us who provide access to the current location by calling it an “upgrade”. ;)
You can post any ideas here about changes to meeting venue.

I have an option on a site for the November meeting in Shelton; right off Rt. 8. Food and refreshments can arranged at no cost to SCOSUG. Will like to know if there is interest.

digysol,
I just posted an announcement for the next meeting via meetup.com. Let’s see what kind of rsvp response we get there before making changes.
Also: What is wrong with the current location? It provides wifi access, computers, etc. It can be a bit difficult to find, but I think we can remedy that with some better directions on the meeting announcement, and maybe posting some direction signs near the venue or something along those lines.

First off, I did not wanted to in any one put down the current location. But, I thought having the location closer in Fairfield county may be convenient to many of the potential attendees. I am also the vice-chair of the IEEE CT section Computer Society. The topic (Quantum Computing) should be of interest to our members as well and thought that we can make it a “joint” meeting. The Shelton location is readily available to the IEEE.

I see nothing wrong with moving the location if it increases our attendance. I think at this point we would have to check with the guest speaker before moving the location however. I know the date/time is solid as it was the only one available when working with the speaker earlier in September. Doing something jointly with IEEE isn’t a bad idea at all. How is the attendance at IEEE events in Fairfield? Everyone does like free food and drink too, but I don’t remember paying for that beer I drank.. :-)
