We have several brewers in our group, and plenty of members who enjoy drinking beer. We’re all open source enthusiasts. So, why have we not yet considered an open source beer meeting?!

I just want to gauge interest in who might want to be involved in a meeting with this topic.

Sound off!

Do I have to brew or can I just sample?

It’s not called “sampling”, it’s called “quality control”.

I don’t know if anyone else has volunteered yet, but I can organize the first brew. I can let the group borrow the essential brewing supplies (fermenters, brew pot, propane burner, etc.). We will need some other supplies too (smaller pots, empty bottles, full beer bottles, etc.) and the ingredients for the brew itself.

So, here are questions that need answers:

1) Who wants to be “in” for this brew?

2) What are we brewing?

3) When and where are we brewing? We will need some out-of-the-way storage space for the fermenting beer. Most brews take about 8 to 10 weeks if you are bottling. We also need a stove and a sink.

I am definitely interested in this. I brew my own beer and cider. Love doing it – but I would love to learn what others are doing.
